Milan and Roma are negotiating the exchange between Alexis Saelemaekers and Tammy Abraham (today's agenda includes a meeting to finalise), but they are also ready to compete in the market for a common target: Manu Koné.
The French midfielder of Ivorian origin (born in 2001, formerly of Toulouse) is set to leave the German club Borussia Monchengladbach, where he is contracted until June 2026. Paris Saint-Germain is also reported to be interested.
The Rossoneri and Giallorossi are willing to invest around 15 million euros for his transfer, but they need to make room by working on outgoing transfers first. After selling Adli to Fiorentina, Milan is trying to move Bennacer to Saudi Arabia, while Roma is negotiating the sale of Bove to English club Nottingham Forest.
As per Calciomeercato.com, Roma is keeping the option open for 25-year-old Boubakary Soumaré, who has returned to Leicester after a loan to Sevilla. Milan is considering another French player: Adrien Rabiot (born in 1995), who is available on the free market after leaving Juventus on a free transfer.
Rabiot can also sign after the closure of the summer transfer window in Italy. Similarly, Bennacer can still move to Saudi Arabia, where the market remains open until October 6.
