Gianluca Nani, the man in charge of transfers for Udinese and Watford, has spoken to the microphones of Tuttomercatoweb about the transfer market and mentioned AC Milan's interest in Lazar Samardzic.
Here are his words about the Serbian player:
"Samardzic? Milan did inquire, yes, but we never started a real negotiation. Atalanta, on the other hand, made the right offer and was the club that wanted the player the most."
Are you already thinking about the January market? The Udinese director replied:
"Yes. But also about June. This is the time when we already think about the future and getting ahead of the competition. Negotiations, however, don’t start now. January is still early, and we hope we won’t need to make any interventions. We have two complete squads, both at Udinese and Watford."
For context, Lazar Samardzic eventually joined Atalanta on loan from Udinese with a loan option that turns into obligation based on some conditions. He already made two appearances for Gian Piero Gasperini's team.
