Mike Maignan has been a really strong asset for AC Milan head coach Paulo Fonseca since the start of the season.
This is why the alarm triggered during the French national team's training camp, where the goalkeeper is currently involved in the Nations League, has greatly worried Milan's technical staff.
A starter in the 4-1 win against Israel, Maignan did not train on Saturday, October 12, raising concerns within the Milan camp.
How is Maignan, and when will he return?
Earlier today, Sunday, October 13, 2024, it was informally reported that the decision not to let the goalkeeper train was purely precautionary, as relayed via Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
This was later confirmed by coach Didier Deschamps: "Since yesterday (Saturday), I haven't seen Maignan or Tchouaméni; they're sleeping (he smiles)." He told TF1. "There’s no real concern, as it’s only the second day... it’s more of a precaution."
Therefore, Maignan has no significant physical issues: he will return to training soon and is expected to be regularly between the posts for the Nations League away match against Belgium, scheduled for tomorrow evening.
