In his editorial piece for Tuttomercatoweb, Italian journalist Luca Marchetti also discussed Milan and the accomplishment by Paulo Fonseca’s team at the Santiago Bernabeu against Real Madrid.
Here's what he had to say:
"Certainly, courage, focus, and boldness were all qualities Milan demonstrated as they went to Madrid and seized victory. Almost unexpected, considering what happened in recent games for the Rossoneri. Almost inevitable, once you saw the match. By playing in a very simple and incredibly effective way, Milan exposed all of Real Madrid’s difficulties and buried them within the match. There’s been a lot, an enormous amount, of talk about Leao lately. In Madrid, we saw Leao, and he made a difference. But the beauty of the Spanish victory is that it wasn’t Leao’s Rossoneri winning, but the Rossoneri with Leao."
The journalist continued to talk about Milan's victory against Real Madrid:
"This is certainly the most beautiful building block Fonseca has laid down. In a challenging moment, he has always prioritized the team over the individual, and today they’re reaping an excellent performance. A strong match doesn’t mean all of Milan’s issues are resolved, just as a bad game doesn’t confirm a crisis. But a signal has come from Madrid: Fonseca’s work is resonating. The seeds he planted are starting to show their fruits. How lush and flavorful they will be won’t depend only on Fonseca. Everything around the coach must work, the team above all. But we’ve seen what potential there is, and more importantly, the players have understood it."
