The Milan edition of Repubblica reports on last night's City Council meeting in Milan, which also discussed the future of San Siro: progress on the sale of the Meazza stadium and surrounding areas, with tight deadlines and a strict timeline.
The vote was in favor with 24 votes for, 16 against, and two abstentions. During the session, alongside Mayor Giuseppe Sala—who faced criticism from some members of the committees against the construction of the new stadium present in the hall—Giancarlo Tancredi, the Councilor for Urban Regeneration, also spoke. He outlined the steps that should lead to the signing of the sale contract by July 2025:
"By the first quarter of next year, Inter and Milan will need to present their proposal with the purchase offer, the draft of the sale contract, and the updated technical and economic feasibility plan."
In April, the Municipality of Milan will publish an "exploratory notice" to see if, in addition to the Rossoneri and Nerazzurri clubs, there are other parties interested in purchasing the San Siro stadium and surrounding area.
In fact, the price set by the Revenue Agency is 197 million euros, of which 73 million for Meazza and 124 million for adjacent land)
At the same time, the Conference of Services will be reopened to validate the project updates.
The final project will, of course, have to wait for the sale, and here the conditional is necessary, as nothing is certain yet.
