The USMNT captain, Christian Pulisic, is already a star at AC Milan and in the Serie A. His impact on the pitch cannot be denied or questioned as he has been able to find the net 7 times already between the league and Champions League. He also provided 5 assists to his teammates across both competitions.
How is Christian Pulisic under the guidance of Paulo Fonseca?
The Portuguese coach deems the former Chelsea player highly. He has already been clear about him since the pre-season when he said in a press conference (last August 1) the following:
"Pulisic? Another amazing player. He just arrived a few days ago like Musah. He didn't have time to learn everything and more details. But he has unbelievable qualities, also in the last year, he was a very important player for Milan."
The American star has been thriving under Paulo Fonseca's management.
Despite the fluctuating overall results of the team, he continues to prove his worth and importance.
Several times already, we have seen the 26-year-old play more centrally behind the striker and this courageous decision paid off.
Coming into this USMNT 🇺🇸 camp, Christian Pulisic currently has the following:
5th all time goal scorer for the USMNT despite not cracking the top 10 in appearances.
Highest goal per game at 0.42 goals/game, followed by Clint (0.4), Jozy (0.365) and Landon (0.363)
2nd all…

How has Christian Pulisic integrated in Milan so far culturally?
The ex Borussia Dortmund talent has embraced Milan, not just as a footballing city but culturally. His connection to Italy through his grandmother certainly helps him: "My father has an Italian flag tattoo dedicated to my grandmother who had Sicilian origins. She would definitely be proud," he told Men in Blazers last summer.
He is enjoying life in Italy and in the city of Milan. The player is reportedly in good terms with all of his teammates and he even received praise from key figures, including legendary retired striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, which is no easy feat.
"I think Christian is our 'Captain America.' He’s doing extraordinary things, you can see he’s happy; being at Milan makes every player happy. This isn’t just my opinion; every player would tell you the same. They have an optimal environment to focus only on football and performance on the field. We revitalised him, and now you can see he’s really happy on the field, and that’s why he’s performing at a high level. Even off the field, he’s key for us", said Zlatan to UEFA Champions League magazine (read full interview here).
Pulisic continues to grow - What is next for him?
The versatile right-winger has quickly become a fan-favourite. His performances are usually consistent with his great set of skills. He has redeemed himself after a tough and unlucky adventure at the Stamford Bridge with Chelsea a few years ago. The next step for him would be to keep working like he is currently doing, reach double figures in goals and assists. Paulo Fonseca will surely be relying on him, especially with Rafael Leao's return to his strong form.
