The French club has long been in financial crisis and recently announced a debt of €505.1 million in a statement.
But which players could interest Milan?
Alfredo Pedullà, an Italian journalist, mentioned a talent who could appeal to Serie A.
"It’s clear that Lyon’s situation makes you consider some options. I don’t know how it will end. There’s one man to snap up immediately: Cherki! If you want to aim high, if you need a young player who can make a difference, Cherki is the one. Born in 2003, he can play in any attacking position. When the game gets tough, he has close-control dribbling and creativity that can help you win difficult matches. That’s why he should be signed right away: he has experience, he’s a prospect with immense potential. A new environment and a new coach could make him even stronger."
Pedullà added:
"I fear that wealthier clubs might outbid Italian teams. I could see him fitting well in any top Serie A club. He’s a destined star. He’s been linked to Lazio, which then pursued a different type of player. I’d sign Cherki regardless of needs—he’s a piece of the future. I wouldn’t rule out that other clubs have already approached Lyon. A competitive offer will be needed to meet the rising auction."
