Hakan Calhanoglu was interviewed by Corriere dello Sport. The Inter midfielder spoke again about Milan, this time using peaceful tones, and revealed an anecdote about Marco Giampaolo's dismissal.

"Coming here? I can say that it was, first and foremost, a major change in my life. Moving here from Milan wasn’t easy. But I had always liked Inter, even in the past. From the first day in the Nerazzurri, an extraordinary journey began, one that has marked my career and made me the player I am today. Finishing my career at Inter? I hope so, it’s my wish. Also, because I’m not so young anymore. And in football, you never know what will happen. But I will certainly stay as long as possible."
Calhanoglu added:
"At Milan, the first year was difficult because I was coming off six months of suspension. I wasn’t in shape. Then everything improved. I think everyone fielded me because, fundamentally, I’m a team player and I always work for the good of the team. I’ve always been willing to play wherever asked—wide on the left or as an attacking midfielder. Moreover, Giampaolo was the first to deploy me as a deep-lying playmaker, in a match against Udinese on the opening day of the 2019/20 season. We didn’t have much time together because he was dismissed. I felt bad about it because I got along well with him. I appreciated his ideas, and I liked Giampaolo as a person. I’m happy he’s now at Lecce and doing well."
