The operation for the sale of San Siro will reach the city council “tentatively in June, to complete the entire operation and finalize the deed in August or September.” This was explained by the mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, outlining the next steps in the sale of the stadium and surrounding areas to Inter and Milan, after the conference of services concluded yesterday.

A second conference of services will need to be held before the sale. And “tentatively” there will also be an opinion from the council on the public interest of the project “at the moment we have the final project,” he clarified.
The heritage authority clarified that the protection status on the second ring, on the occasion of its 70th anniversary, will take effect on November 10. “We thought it would be a bit earlier, so that’s fine, but let’s say we are still sticking to the timeline of closing in the summer,” he concluded. “I hope this is finally the right time, because it’s an endless job."
