Francesco Camarda, Milan striker on loan at Lecce, spoke at a press conference on the eve of the Italy U21 match against Sweden:
“I am still nobody in football, this is only the beginning and I have done nothing yet. I came here to give my best, to seize the opportunity. I feel good, we are a strong group and we enjoy being together. On the pitch we have quality, off the pitch we have fun with simple things. If we believe, we can go very far.”
How was it to score your first goal in Serie A?
“From the moment you start playing, you dream of moments like this. The first goal, the debut, these are the targets you set as a child. Reaching it gives me great satisfaction and motivation. It is a starting point, and I am even more motivated to climb as high as possible.”
Camarda, how do you feel?
“I never thought of myself as destined. I live in the present, day by day. At the club and with the national team, I try to improve and give the best possible. It is not for me to say I am destined, I try to isolate myself from all that. I am nobody in football. I have to prove to myself, on the pitch, that there is still a lot to do. I want to reach the highest level, I have set big goals and I want to achieve them all. This is only the beginning, I have done nothing yet.”
