Next summer too, Milan are expected to undergo a significant transformation, with various departments, especially midfield and attack, set to change their shape. This is not just about new signings, but also about players who could be on their way out. In fact, although not a direct consequence, for every player who arrives there is at least one who is ready to leave. In this sense, there could be as many as two Rossoneri midfielders packing their bags, according to this morning’s 'Gazzetta dello Sport'.
At the start of the season, Allegri had asked both of them to score 15 goals combined. Today, however, they could leave: Youssouf Fofana and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. For the Frenchman, two Turkish clubs had already shown interest in January, but the player himself turned down the offers because he was not interested in that type of move. His preferences have not changed, but there are at least two Premier League clubs monitoring the former Monaco player: Tottenham, in the event of survival, and Aston Villa. For Milan, the price would not be far from what they paid a year and a half ago: €25 million.
As for Loftus-Cheek, a contract renewal had been close, but it was then put on hold due to a drop in form. With his contract expiring in 2027, the Rossoneri are prepared to let him go as well, even at a slightly lower price than his valuation, in order to at least reduce the wage bill.
