Gianluca Di Marzio, journalist, spoke on Sky Sport about AC Milan’s transfer market as follows:
“Qualification for the Champions League is important from an economic and budget point of view, and also for convincing players who are coming from abroad, I’m referring to Milan, Juventus and Roma. But it also matters in terms of appeal for certain players like Bernardo Silva, whom Italian clubs are negotiating for. Bernardo might say to Juve: ‘I want to see if you qualify for the Champions League.’
To try to finalise certain players whose contracts are expiring today, this final rush clearly carries weight. Goretzka himself, who is about to play a semi-final with Bayern, may want to keep playing in the Champions League, he hopes to do so wearing the Milan shirt.”
