Alfredo Pedullà, journalist and transfer-market expert, expressed himself as follows in his editorial for Sportitalia about AC Milan:
“AC Milan have always played badly, so I’m not shocked by the recent defeats. Massimiliano Allegri manages the team but does not give it a technical-tactical identity; very often, from February onwards, his teams fall apart precisely because there is no convincing foundation. Milan cannot fail to achieve Champions League qualification, it would be an epochal disaster, but above all, they still lack unity of purpose off the pitch. They are so divided that everyone reasons in their own way. The latest 'like' from Igli Tare on statements by Fedele Confalonieri regarding Gerry Cardinale and Giorgio Furlani is not a good look. The fact that he removed it gives an idea of how many obstacles exist within the Rossoneri archipelago, precisely inside the Rossoneri home. And without complete harmony, the problem is not only qualifying for the Champions League (which already is a problem…), but everything else as well.
Juventus FC have this clear characteristic: whenever they are on the verge of punching the ticket for definitive competitiveness, they stop and hand out gifts. As if it were Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve. Free champagne. The two draws against Milan and Hellas Verona FC were alarming for two reasons: a) at Massimiliano Allegri’s side, the team settled when they should have taken control of the match; b) against Sammarco and company, Juve took to the pitch with the certainty and awareness that they already had the three points in the standings, a colossal error born of arrogance. If Juve are in this situation, the main blame lies with Damien Comolli, who had confirmed Igor Tudor and then sacked him a few months later, a decision that cost at least 7-8 points in the table.”
