One of the hot names in recent days for Milan is that of Ralf Rangnick. No, we have not gone back to 2020, and yes, the Rossoneri have turned to the German manager to understand whether to start a new project with him. Rangnick has shown openness, but of course on his own terms: the current head coach of Austria wants full autonomy and freedom of action. Gianluca Di Marzio, live on Sky Sport, gives an update on the situation:
“Rangnick has set conditions, but he has always set them throughout his career: he must decide everything himself. I don’t know how much Cardinale and Ibrahimović want to hand over the keys of Milan and the club to Rangnick. He was not called to be the coach but to be the director of the technical area. He gave his approval, saying he can also consider going, but only after the World Cup and by bringing in his own people: he must choose the coach and the various figures in all areas of the club. I don’t know what is going through Cardinale and Ibra’s minds now, and whether they are willing to satisfy Rangnick in order to have a figure of authority and power who can then take responsibility for what will be a new project."
"Then, for example, he has an excellent relationship with Spors, who was Sporting Director of Genoa. I don’t know, in the event that Rangnick accepts, or Milan accepts to meet Rangnick’s demands, he could rely on figures who already know Italian football such as Spors. However, I am talking about possible scenarios; it will depend somewhat on Milan’s willingness to go for such a figure or not.”
