MN: Tense exchanges between Ibrahimovic and Cardinale, but Milan still stalled as of 2 June

In recent days, there have reportedly been several, at times rather heated, exchanges between Gerry Cardinale and Zlatan Ibrahimovic regarding the future of Milan. These face-to-face meetings were necessary and inevitable, but as of 2 June, they have still not produced any concrete solution: the Rossoneri club is in fact still without a head coach, technical director, sporting director, or chief executive, writes Milan News. This vacuum situation perfectly reflects the fragility of the current moment being experienced at Casa Milan.

At this point it naturally raises the question of whether, during these discussions, a few words may also have been exchanged too sharply between Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Gerry Cardinale, especially because in such an unstable phase it takes very little for the desire to correct mistakes to turn into real tension. Milan must rebuild everything – absolutely everything – yet still seems stuck at the discussion stage. The paradox is clear: there is talk of a fresh start, but the very figures who should be leading it are still missing. Rangkick, Planes, Jaissle, Glasner, Pochettino – all interesting names who could suit the Rossoneri cause, but at the moment none of them appears even remotely close to joining the club.

The situation at Milan is even more delicate considering that the World Cup in America kicks off in less than 15 days. In his own way, Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be involved across the Atlantic. Not on the pitch, but behind the cameras, as he is expected in the United States as an analyst for colleagues at Fox Sports. This raises a natural question for RedBird’s Senior Advisor, especially given what has happened this week: after Iraola’s refusal and the uncertainty surrounding Milan, still without leadership, with Cardinale under pressure and the risk of tensions within the environment increasing if a solution is not reached soon, was it really necessary to go to America anyway? Because the risk here is ending up with whoever is left available, a risk that is both enormous and very real if things continue like this.
