From the Belgian training camp in Seattle ahead of the World Cup starting today, Alexis Saelemaekers has spoken, also discussing the season he experienced at Milan, which ended with the Rossoneri failing to qualify for the Champions League. He said:
“It is a shame not to have achieved the season’s objectives, but Milan remains Milan, a legendary club. At the Rossoneri you must give 100% in every training session, in every match. Personally, I have shown that I can perform at this level and I am proud to be in such a big team,” his statements reported by gazzetta.it.

Saelemaekers is currently focused solely on the World Cup with Belgium:
“At the moment the most important thing for me is the World Cup. Everything related to the club I put aside; it is not really one of my concerns. I prefer simply to focus on this major event.”
If Saelemaekers is playing at the World Cup, it is also thanks to Milan. The Belgian winger himself admitted this:
“In any case, this opportunity is a real source of pride for me. It is the result of hard work that pays off after many years of effort. Obviously, playing at such a big club like Milan has made me more mature and has brought me here," as relayed via Milannews.it.
