AC Milan have reportedly contacted George Gardi. He is an important figure who, over the past five years, has significantly strengthened his position within the world of international football transfers.
At present, to begin to define Gardi’s role, it would not be accurate to describe him simply as a FIFA agent or a traditional intermediary. He can instead be described as a “deal maker”; a special consultant for a particular club, working externally (he is not formally employed by the club) to facilitate transfer operations that may appear complex in their conception. His background began in the world of agents before evolving into working side by side with club presidents.
Why are we talking about Gardi in connection with Milan?
Because there have reportedly been preliminary discussions with him regarding a possible collaboration once the new structure of the sporting department is established and operational. It was reported yesterday that the current power vacuum could be filled by Bobby Gardiner and Jovan Kirovski, although this would be a temporary solution aimed at beginning work alongside Amorim on building the squad.
This is where Gardi could come into the picture. He is a skilled builder of relationships across Europe, as demonstrated by the many deals he has completed for Galatasaray since 2022. One only has to consider his involvement in bringing Victor Osimhen, Leroy Sané, Dries Mertens, and Mauro Icardi to Istanbul, to name just a few. And given the wide range of names currently being discussed (including, from Turkey, the long-considered former Fenerbahçe figure Devin Özek) Milan can hardly overlook the different track record of Galatasaray’s chief dealmaker compared with others, considering the club’s four titles, Champions League Round of 16 appearances, and a team that has come to dominate its domestic competition, especially Fenerbahçe.
Who is George Gardi?
Born in Florence on 30 May 1981, Gardi graduated from the European School of Economics in Milan and founded his own agency, Gardi Management. He is officially registered in the FIGC agents’ register. He has been active in the football transfer market for more than 20 years and is a key figure not only in Turkey and the Mediterranean region, but has also established a strong reputation in Germany, France, and England.
