The World Cup is always an opportunity to see new talents emerge. Among the many players making an impression in recent days, one had already put himself on the map during the qualifiers, at the expense of Wales and Italy: Kerim Alajbegović. The 18-year-old was decisive in the play-offs against the Welsh and the Azzurri, and has been even more influential in the United States, helping Bosnia reach the Round of 32, where they will face the tournament hosts, the United States. After his goal against Qatar, Zlatan Ibrahimović praised him:
"The most important thing is courage. An 18-year-old at a World Cup, under pressure, in front of millions of spectators, playing as though he owns the stadium. That is rare. He is not the typical young player who was simply hoping to have a good match."
Ibrahimovic pushing for Alajbegovic
It is the same Zlatan Ibrahimović who, after watching him up close at the World Cup, is now keen to bring him to Milan, as pointed out via Corriere dello Sport. A young talent of undeniable quality, Alajbegović could fit well into the attacking midfield role behind the striker in Amorim's 3-4-2-1 system. It will not be an easy deal, however, because competition for his signature has existed for some time (ever since Moncada placed him on the club's shortlist) and it is close to home as well, with Roma also showing strong interest. Furthermore, this World Cup has undoubtedly attracted even more attention to the player.
