Gabriel Jesus was not called up by Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil for the World Cup due to the limited minutes he has had with the Gunners. This situation, with a year left on his contract (2027), is fuelling rumours of a possible departure from the London club, and the 29-year-old former Manchester City forward has also been linked with Juventus and Milan.
What if Gabriel Jesus’s future were in Serie A?
"I used to watch it and dream of playing in Italy, we’ll see what happens”.
In an interview with 'La Gazzetta dello Sport', Gabriel Jesus did not express sadness over his omission from the squad. On the contrary, he says he is going through a particularly positive period:
"Who is Gabriel Jesus? A happy guy, someone who jokes with everyone, including Calafiori who plays with me at Arsenal and loves Brazil as much as I love Italy. He is in Brazil now, he sends me photos and Brazilian music."
The 1997-born forward manages to remain happy despite the many injuries that have troubled his career:
“It does not matter what has happened in the past, I am grateful to God for what I have achieved in life: he gave me talent and opportunities. In difficult moments I had doubts, I wondered whether I would come back. I was already reading the Bible, but at that time I realised that without Jesus we do not exist. You realise that every day what is written in the Bible happens, and that you cannot manage on your own. Sometimes we think we are superheroes, but it is exactly the opposite: when you realise that nobody is perfect, you understand that you need someone to help you.”
Gabriel Jesus is certain this is the “best moment” of his life. But there is one detail he wants to fix:
"I want to play. I know that if I had more minutes I could do better things."
Could it happen in Italy? Gabriel Jesus has again been linked with Juventus and Milan and he himself does not completely close the door:
“I grew up watching Serie A and I dreamed of playing in Italy. Scoring two goals at San Siro against Inter was like making that dream come true. I do not know my future, I am working now and we will see what happens with Arsenal.”
