This morning's edition of 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' carries the following front-page headline:
"Milan: Amorim arrives and brings Gila. Deal close to completion."
Tomorrow marks the big day as Ruben Amorim arrives in Milan. He is expected at the club's headquarters before travelling to Milanello to take a closer look at the Rossoneri's training centre, which will host the team's pre-season gathering in a week's time.
Over the next few hours, Milan also aims to complete its second major signing of the summer transfer window: Mario Gila, the Lazio centre-back born in 2000, whom the club is hoping to snatch away from both Napoli and Atalanta, who have also been pursuing the Spaniard.
An agreement with the player and his representatives has already been reached. What remains is an agreement with Claudio Lotito. At present, there is a €3 million gap between the asking price and Milan's offer, but it is a difference that can be bridged without major difficulty.
