There is a great deal of talk about AC Milan's incoming transfer business. After signing Gonçalo Ramos, the club is now aiming to complete the arrival of Mario Gila shortly to strengthen the defence. However, one of the main issues of the Rossoneri's summer will also be outgoing transfers, particularly that of Rafael Leão, who, after seven years, has announced that he wants to leave the club based on Via Aldo Rossi.
Leão transfer: Jorge Mendes steps in
To handle such a delicate situation, Jorge Mendes has also stepped in. As reported this morning by Tuttosport, the Portuguese super-agent is personally working on Leão's transfer, with the player dreaming of moving to either England or Spain. In recent days, Tottenham and Barcelona have both been linked with interest in the Portuguese forward, but at the moment there is nothing concrete. Rafa's priority is to remain in Europe. If no suitable offer arrives, however, he could become open to a move to Saudi Arabia, where Mendes enjoys considerable influence.
Leão transfer: Rafa wants the Premier League or La Liga, but the Saudi option remains
Leão finished his Club World Cup campaign last night and can now focus entirely on his future. The influential Portuguese agent has already begun sounding out the market to find him a new club. One destination that could become increasingly likely is Saudi Arabia, although, as things stand, the player would prefer to continue his career in Europe. The problem is that concrete offers are needed that meet Milan's asking price of €60–70 million. For the time being, however, no such offers are on the horizon from either the Premier League or Spain's La Liga.
