As reported by the Italian newspaper in this morning's print edition Corriere dello Sport, Fenerbahçe responded yesterday with a firm stance regarding the alleged 100m package offer to sign Rafael Leão from AC Milan.
The Turkish club released a statement Regarding Rafael Leao:
"The claims that we have made an offer of around €100 million for Rafael Leão, including both his transfer fee and salary, do not reflect the truth. No such offer has been made to the player or his club."
As the newspaper highlights, what has actually been reported, at least in Italy, is that Fenerbahçe have a strong interest in Leão. This interest, however, has not yet resulted in an official proposal to Milan for the player's transfer, mainly because the Turkish club still needs to resolve some internal issues.
Rafael Leao's latest statements:
"I had already spoken with the club about the possibility of trying a new experience, so to speak. I don't know if it will happen, but in any case, I have to report back on the 29th and, for as long as I am there, I will give everything I have while respecting the shirt that has given me so much. It's the club where I grew up, the one that helped me enormously in every aspect. But I believe that, just like in life, you always aspire to experience something different. If an opportunity in that direction comes along, I will evaluate my options. For now, though, I am still a Milan player. We'll see what happens," he told PodPah.
