Blank profiles ahead of the new season. Following in the footsteps of Youssouf Fofana, Mike Maignan has also archived or deleted all of his posts from his Instagram profile. For both players, it could represent a clean break with the past or simply a routine social media clean-up.
Fofana and an uncertain future
The French midfielder is no longer considered central to the Rossoneri project and is viewed as a player who could leave. Milan are ready to let him depart after two seasons, provided a satisfactory offer of at least €20 million is made. At the moment, however, no such proposal has arrived at Casa Milan, and Fofana continues to work under Amorim. In the second half of Celtic-Milan, he even wore the captain’s armband.
Maignan and his post-World Cup return
The French goalkeeper is currently on holiday after the demands of the season and the World Cup. He is expected back at Milanello on 12 August, 11 days before the season opener against Torino. The departures of Allegri, Tare and goalkeeping coach Filippi were a major blow for Maignan, as he had a close relationship with each of them. Now he must reset and start again, as captain, in the new project led by Cardinale and Amorim, who continue to place their faith in him.
