The friendly derby in Perth, Australia, ends 1-1. After a goalless first half, both goals arrived after the break: Dimarco put Inter ahead, while seven minutes from time Nkunku converted the penalty he had won himself.
Milan-Inter, first half
Ruben Amorim made five changes compared to the starting XI that featured in the friendly against Celtic in Glasgow. In the Portuguese coach’s 3-4-2-1 formation, Chukwueze started on the right, with Fofana and Musah in midfield, while Cissé and Loftus-Cheek played behind Camarda. Modrić, Leão and the most anticipated new arrival, Gonçalo Ramos, began on the bench. In his usual 3-5-2 system, Chivu opted for an attacking partnership of Esposito and young striker Iddrissou.

The first chance fell to Milan in the eighth minute: a passing move through midfield released Loftus-Cheek, who, after reaching the edge of the box, played Cissé through on goal. Under pressure and from a tight angle, the forward could only fire a weak effort into the side netting. Four minutes later, Milan threatened again: Chukwueze delivered a perfectly placed cross into the box, where Camarda only managed to get a slight touch from close range with Martínez beaten.
In the 18th minute, Milan came within inches of taking the lead. Milan-Inter, second half
At the start of the second half, both teams made two substitutions. Milan introduced Estupiñán and Nkunku for Bartesaghi and Cissé, while Inter brought on Mkhitaryan and Lavelli for Stanković and Iddrissou. Seven minutes into the second half, Inter broke the deadlock: Lavelli protected the ball from Pavlović and laid it off to Barella, who delivered a low first-time cross for Dimarco. The wing-back escaped Chukwueze and finished from close range to make it 1-0.
Inter looked much improved after the break, with the Nerazzurri particularly dangerous down the right flank, where Estupiñán struggled. Diouf beat the Ecuadorian defender and sent the ball into the box, where Mkhitaryan stretched to meet it but narrowly missed the right post.
After the hour mark, Amorim changed all eight outfield players who had started and remained on the pitch after half-time, bringing on Terracciano, De Winter, Vladimirov, Saelemaekers, Modric, Jashari, Leão and, most notably, Gonçalo Ramos, who made his debut in a Milan shirt.
It was Inter, however, who came close to doubling their lead. Barella played Lavelli through on goal (although the forward may have been in an offside position, as the assistant referee kept the flag down) and the young Inter striker produced a slightly scuffed finish, forcing Torriani to stretch and tip the ball behind for a corner.
With 20 minutes remaining, Chivu also changed the look of his team by making six substitutions. Two minutes later, Milan had a great opportunity: Leão and Ramos combined in a one-two, with Rafa sending a low cross into the box, but the newly introduced Provedel made a crucial intervention to deny Nkunku a certain finish.
Seven minutes from the end, Milan were awarded a penalty. Modrić played the ball to Christopher Nkunku, who was held back by Carlos Augusto. The Frenchman stepped up himself and struck a powerful effort into the corner. Provedel guessed the right way, but could not prevent Milan from equalising.
Two minutes before the 90th minute, Çalhanoğlu unleashed a powerful effort from around 20 metres, but Torriani produced an excellent save, diving across goal to tip it around the post with his fingertips. From the resulting corner, Carlos Augusto rose highest but sent his header narrowly over the bar.
After a lengthy period of added time due to Bisseck's injury, the match ended with the scoreline level at 1-1.
