This summer, the big clubs in Italian football strengthened their squads in an effort to challenge Inter’s dominance. The Nerazzurri have also added some important pieces to their squad, allowing them to further improve Cristian Chivu’s team. The feeling is that the gap with the reigning Italian champions is still fairly significant, but it must be said that, in the recently concluded transfer window, all of Inter’s biggest rivals strengthened their squads.
Roma, Como and Napoli added the pieces they were missing, while 'Il Corriere della Sera' highlighted that “Milan and Juve, the investments are record-breaking”, with both clubs spending more than €100 million — investments that were almost necessary to strengthen their squads and make the teams coached by Amorim and Spalletti competitive.
