At the same time, however, the former Manchester United manager is aware that the Croatian will turn 41 on Wednesday and that he needs to be ‘preserved’. In other words, he cannot play every match in a season that will also see Milan involved in Thursday-night Europa League fixtures.
"That is why his players must learn to... cope even when the Ballon d’Or winner is not on the pitch. In this regard, Jashari’s improvement in terms of performances is crucial, as Amorim is a huge admirer of him, as is Musah maintaining the level he showed during pre-season and in the first two matchdays. It will also be important to use Rabiot between the two holding midfielders if necessary, as well as giving Comotto his opportunity.”
