Sérgio Conceição was DAZN's special guest in the aftermath of another night of UEFA Champions League action and, towards the end of the programme, took the opportunity to discuss his experience with AC Milan.
"At Milan, I spent six months where things went... I wouldn’t say extremely well, but we managed to win a Super Cup and reach the Coppa Italia final. Amorim said recently that Milan have won two league titles in 20 years, and that is true. One or two cups, and one of them is mine, in six months. Then it was confirmed that the coach was not the problem behind everything. Obviously, I had my share of responsibility and I don’t want to run away from that, but it became clear that Allegri and the board... the whole thing fell apart."
Sergio Conceicao also said:
"It wasn’t because of the change of coach, and I want to send Ruben a hug and wish him the best of luck on this new journey, which is not easy at all, especially given everything surrounding the club. The pressure that exists there... people think they have to be European champions every year and win the league," he added.
