Giuseppe Sala, the mayor of Milan, was interviewed by Italia Oggi and discussed the new stadium planned for the San Siro area. Currently, the Meazza stadium is located there, where Milan and Inter play their home games.

Here are Giuseppe Sala's words:
"I have said many times that I would have preferred to renovate the current stadium. But it is the football clubs that are investing, and ultimately, we can only emphasize the importance of not disrupting the fans' habit of going to San Siro. In this direction, an important step has been taken with the clubs' expression of interest. The moment of truth will come in March when they present the revised economic and financial plan. Once approved, if everything goes well, we will proceed with the steps to transfer the old stadium and the surrounding areas to the clubs."
Sala concluded by saying:
"The Revenue Agency has estimated the value of the stadium and the surrounding areas at 197 million euros. A careful and indisputable evaluation was necessary. The clubs are aware of this, and if they are interested and everything works out, they will pay that amount. We will use that money for the neighborhood and for the most vulnerable groups. I have asked the city council for a proposal based on these guidelines," as relayed via PianetaMilan.it.
