As a now-viral social media video shows, Giorgio Furlani watched the protest at the San Siro stadium in silence, together with Paolo Scaroni. The Rossoneri supporters became quite angry when they saw the CEO’s reaction, because a slight smirk made him appear amused by the display organised by the Curva Sud. An article from La Gazzetta dello Sport explains why that expression appeared.
Giorgio Furlani chose to attend Milan vs Atalanta despite the targeted criticism. The camera shot looked away from the "G.F OUT" banner, but according to the newspaper, the senior Milan executive commented:
“It was an expression of stress; the tension was extremely high, also because of what was at stake in the match. I have been a Rossoneri supporter since childhood.”
