The Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport headlines this morning:
“A Devilish Expense. Over 400 million spent to rebuild Milan, but so many flops.”
From 2023 to today, RedBird Capital Partners has invested more than €400 million to strengthen AC Milan’s squad, but unfortunately the investments have not always paid off. The most expensive signing was Christopher Nkunku last summer, followed by Santiago Giménez in January 2025. However, neither the Frenchman nor the Mexican performed as expected.
The most successful deal, instead, was Tijjani Reijnders, signed for €25 million in the summer of 2023 and then sold for more than double that amount two years later.
