AC Milan continue to experience days of deep uncertainty. After a disappointing season and failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League, the Rossoneri club finds itself in the midst of a corporate and technical overhaul which, at present, does not yet appear to have identified a definitive direction.
This morning’s Corriere dello Sport also reports on this, explaining how differing visions for the club’s future are emerging internally. On one side there is Zlatan Ibrahimović, increasingly involved in the company’s strategic decisions; on the other, a faction that continues to view Ralf Rangnick as the ideal profile to lead the rebuilding of the technical area, as pointed out via Milannews.it.
Ibrahimovic backing Arne Slot:
The former Swedish striker is said to have identified Arne Slot as the perfect candidate for the Rossoneri bench. Coming off his spell at Liverpool, the Dutch coach would represent an international and modern solution, capable of bringing new ideas and an attacking playing philosophy. Ibrahimović is reportedly working personally to promote this option, also supported by his excellent relationship with agent Rafaela Pimenta, a figure close both to Slot and to the potential sporting director Ramón Planes.
However, Rangnick’s candidacy continues to hold a position of major importance. The current Austria national team manager is highly regarded by the Rossoneri hierarchy for his ability to build long-term projects and for his experience within the Red Bull model. The German executive, however, is said to have requested extensive operational guarantees, demanding full autonomy in decisions concerning the coach, sporting director, scouting, and youth sector.
This very aspect would represent one of the main points of friction. Ibrahimović is reportedly not fully convinced about granting Rangnick full powers, preferring instead to maintain a central role in the technical decisions of the new Milan. The coming hours could prove decisive. The club is required to resolve the issues surrounding its organisational structure and technical leadership, while fans await answers after weeks of great confusion. One thing appears certain: Milan’s future is now being shaped between differing ideas, opposing strategies, and a choice that could determine the club’s destiny for years to come.
