After reaching a full agreement with the player in recent days, who will sign a five-year contract worth €4.5 million per season plus bonuses, Milan is now ready to finalise the deal with Lazio as well for Mario Gila, who will become Ruben Amorim's first defensive signing. Since Lazio must give 50% of the transfer fee to Real Madrid, president Claudio Lotito has no intention of offering any discount and is holding firm on his €30 million valuation (including bonuses).

Is Lorenzo Calvani included in the Milan-Gila transfer?
According to Tuttosport this morning, Milan is prepared to meet that valuation by including the registration rights of Lorenzo Calvani in the deal. The 2008-born left winger could be the key to unlocking negotiations between Milan and Lazio for Gila. The young player had already been a target for Jovan Kirovski's Milan Futuro project well before talks began for the Spanish defender. A breakthrough agreement between the Rossoneri and the Biancocelesti is expected either today or tomorrow, which would see Milan surpass the €100 million mark in spending during this summer's transfer window under Gerry Cardinale.
Gila already spoke with Amorim
Gila is now waiting for the green light to travel to Milan, undergo his routine medical examinations, and sign the five-year contract that will tie him to the club. As soon as the Spaniard became aware of Milan's strong interest, he put every other potential destination in Italy on the back burner (Atalanta and especially Napoli had also been interested in him). The defender has already spoken with Amorim, who considers him a crucial addition to his sporting project.
A centre-forward (Gonçalo Ramos) and a highly reliable central defender (namely Gila) were regarded as the Portuguese coach's top priorities. However, Milan's business is far from over, as the club is also working to complete several other signings.
