Serie A side Lazio, now coached by Gennaro Gattuso, are reportedly interested in signing the AC Milan centre-forward Santiago Gimenez.
The former Feyenoord forward is Gattuso's preferred option from a shortlist that also includes Sassuolo's Andrea Pinamonti and Fiorentina's Roberto Piccoli. To secure the 25-year-old striker, however, the Rome-based club would need Milan to agree to a loan deal with an option to buy, given Claudio Lotito's limited transfer budget, as per the latest rumours.
Santiago Gimenez could leave after a difficult season with AC Milan
The player's season was heavily affected by an ankle injury. In addition to that, he did not manage to make a strong impact at the World Cup. The Mexican struggled for playing time and failed to help his national team. Milan do not consider him untouchable, but they have no intention of letting him leave on a cheap deal.
