After doing very well as a substitute in the attacking midfield role in the first two matches, Adrien Rabiot failed to convince when starting in the same position against Juventus.
Different performances:
The Frenchman’s first 65 minutes of league football between Torino and Venezia produced a decisive goal and, in general, some excellent performances. He managed to pose a threat inside the opposition box while also helping with ball retention and winning the ball back, as relayed via Milan Press.
Against Juventus, however, the number 12 looked more subdued, struggling to find the right position on the pitch and suffering considerably against the Bianconeri defence.
Where should Rabiot play?
Many pundits and fans have therefore questioned whether the attacking midfield role is the right position for the 1995-born midfielder at this Milan, or whether it would make more sense for Ruben Amorim to play him in the two-man midfield.
We will see whether the Frenchman moves a few metres deeper against Lazio, or whether Amorim continues to deploy him in the attacking midfield role, hoping that he will become accustomed to it over the coming weeks and produce better performances than the one at the Stadium.
