Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappé is getting closer to sign with Real Madrid as a free agent in the summer transfer window. If the French club lose their key star, they will be looking to purchase the services of AC Milan's Rafael Leao.
According to what the Corriere dello Sport newspaper published in today's morning's print edition, the name of Rafael Leao is at the top of PSG's wish list in the event that Mbappé does indeed sign for Real Madrid on a free transfer.
That the Rossoneri's number 10 has been admired by Paris Saint-Germain for some time is known, especially since the team is led by Luis Campos, who brought Leao from Sporting Lisbon to Lille at the time.
According to reports, Paris Saint-Germain could make a mega-offer this summer, and the French club's market experts have already closely observed Leao's performances, including a beautiful goal in the double Champions League clash.
Mbappé or not, any potential negotiation between Paris and Milan will revolve primarily around the 175 million euros release clause that the Rossoneri inserted in Leao's last contract renewal, signed less than a year ago.
Faced with this figure, potential buyers may be discouraged, but at the same time, it is well known that PSG is not shy about reaching into its wallet, even for very high amounts. The feeling is that Paris Saint-Germain could make a series of offers around 100 million euros , and Milan, at that point, will have to consider whether to accept them or not.
Much will also depend on the player's willingness. One thing, however, is now known: if a suitable offer arrives, the Rossoneri consider no one indispensable, as demonstrated by Sandro Tonali's sale to Newcastle last summer.
