La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper has discussed AC Milan's idea of launching the U-23 team.
According to the source, the club has actuall contacted Serie C club Pro Sesto to assess the availability of their stadium the 'Breda' stadium as a home ground for the Rossoneri.
Pro Sesto currently has an agreement with Inter for the use of the stadium by the women's team, but Milan could take over from next season.
The final decision on the creation of the second team lies with the club owner and RedBird founder himself, Gerry Cardinale, considering that it involves costs (between 7 and 10 million euros per season), but also represents an opportunity for growth for many players currently in the Primavera team coached by Ignazio Abate.
The creation of a second team is contingent upon the absence of registration of a Serie C club, a necessary condition to admit an Under 23 team. Milan is behind Inter in the hierarchy of clubs that can apply, but Inter does not seem interested in this possibility.
