AC Milan are at the final stage of their relationship with Stefano Pioli. The Italian head coach should be leaving once the season is over and his fate has reportedly been sealed for weeks already.

At Casa Milan, they have been working on a candidate to replace him and the closest profile to arrive is Paulo Fonseca, the current tactician of Lille in the French league.
As explained this morning by Corriere della Sera, before appointing the new coach, Milan will have to resolve the contractual issue with Pioli, as he is tied to Milan for another season: an agreement will need to be found for the last year of his contract, which costs the Rossoneri club around ten million euros. "It might not be that simple" writes the renowned newspaper.
In the coming days, the former Fiorentina boss will meet with the Rossoneri executives, and there will be attempts to reach an agreement that can please all parties.
The main favourite to replace Pioli on the Milan bench is indeed Fonseca, who, according to French sources, has already turned down an offer from Marseille because his priority is Milan.
A definitive choice has not yet been made by the Italians, so there could be surprises, although at the moment, the number one candidate is the former Roma coach, who will lead Lille for the last time tonight.
