As reported by Sportsmediaset.it, manager Stefano Pioli has already identified Rodrigo De Paul as a reinforcement to the number 10 role if Hakan Calhanoglu chooses not to renew. The renewal process for Calhanoglu has been anything but seamless. Management have offered a contract at 4 million a year, plus bonuses, and plan not to go any higher. There has been no response from the Turk's entourage at this point, which worries Milan in terms of a renewal.
With the possibility of a departure, which is becoming more likely as each day passes, Pioli has expressed to Maldini and Massara that he would like to pursue Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul. The Argentine is coming off of a fantastic year, and does not lack potential suitors at this point in time. The player is valued at 35-40 million euros, but has recently adopted Mino Raiola as his negotiator, so the price point could easily climb. It is presumed that Udinese would be willing to exchange players to lower the price point, as Hauge or another young player has been suggested for the deal. Da Paul is being closely monitored by many teams across Europe, and Milan will join that list of interested parties.
