AC Milan are paying a lot of attention to the attacking midfielder area. There are negotiations to sign Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid and with Hakan Calhanoglu becoming more distant, the Rossoneri are looking for a good alternative option.
Milan are interested in Mattia Zaccagni but there is also Napoli and Lazio who are admirers of the player as well. However, Milan can offer the Italian playmaker what these two clubs can't: playing Champions League football.
Zaccagni was linked in previous months with Milan already and there were contacts that took place between the executives of Milan and Hellas Verona, writes La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Zaccagni has a contract with Verona until 2022, but has already decided not to renew and therefore his farewell this summer is practically certain. A fee around 12 to 15 million euros is needed to sign the attacking midfielder. But, Milan wants to lower the cash demands by including a player in the negotiations. The names that are being discussed are centre-back Mattia Caldara and right-back Andrea Conti.
The newspaper concludes by claiming that coach Stefano Pioli wants a player that can immediately fit into the 4-2-3-1 formation system. Maldini and Massara are carefully evaluating some profiles.
