Swiss international forward Nina Stapelfeldt signed with AC Milan and spoke to the Milan TV’s microphone about her playing style, her role models and much more.
Here’s what she said:
On her playing style:
“I think my biggest strength is using the strength of my body and then playing past together with other players and finishing in the box.”
On her personality on and off the pitch:
“On the field, I need to be like easy, free not too much of thinking. But after the game, I’m a perfectionist, I really like critics, to analyse myself very well, think about what kind of things I could do better and to improve that for the next game. I think I'm just a hard-working player, but I need this freedom to play and then, with that combination, I think I can perform the best.”
On playing in the Champions League:
“This one is what every player dream of, to play on a European level with you club, I think that's one of the biggest things that you can have in your career. I really wish that we can have a good Champions League season and that we can represent the club very well.”
On her role models:
“I was fancying Ronaldo when he was at the Real Madrid, since then I'm a fan and for women, when I was little there was not really someone on TV because they were not well represented so, yes, I was more a fan of Men’s football. There were many players that impressed me, as a striker I was very impressed by Katoto. She was such a good finisher, always present and her physics, she is so strong, she is for sure someone I always like to watch.”
On getting to know her teammates:
“I had once a friendly game against Italy so I played again some of them, but I’m also very excited to see them.”
On her dreams at Milan:
“My dream is now to have a good season with Milan and then playing at the Euros in England with Switzerland.”
On being at AC Milan:
“I feel a lot of trust from the club, it’s an honour to wear this shirt and, of course, I want to give everything back to the fans, to the club and to my teammates.”
