AC Milan football club could be sold by Elliott Management Corporation to a new investor. Although InvestCorp refuse to make a comment, we believe that there are advanced negotiations between the parties.
Elliott confirmed to us that there is interest from parties who are keen on the club after the recent positive results of the club in the sporting level and also off the pitch.
As per Eurosport, a 'confidential source very close to the negotiation' explained that after months of interest and exploratory polls, the InvestCorp group, based in Bahrain, accelerated on the trail leading to AC Milan once the sale of once the sale of Dainese ( an Italian group specialized in American-style sportswear was completed).
As per the same source, 4th of May was supposed to be the date which would mean the conclusion of the deal. However, the bureaucracy that delayed the start of the new stadium project made the deal postponed.
"Both Investcorp and Elliott, for transparency, would like to have the final ok to the works before signing the transfer of ownership", writes Eurosport. That is why president Paolo Scaroni has been exploring the options of building the new stadium in the Sesto San Giovanni hypothesis for weeks now as an alternative the San Siro area.
