AC Milan continues to work in the transfer market to provide Paulo Fonseca with a new forward after Olivier Giroud moved to MLS. It has been known for some time that Joshua Zirkzee is the Rossoneri's primary target to strengthen the attack. However, in the past few hours, there has been a significant development regarding the Bologna striker, with Manchester United making a surprising move forward. Unlike what was believed at Casa Milan, Manchester United is serious about signing the Dutch player.

Until a few days ago at Casa Milan, it was thought that Manchester United's interest in Zirkzee wasn't very strong. However, this morning, reports from Tuttosport have echoed recent leaks from England, stating that the English club managers have informed Bologna of their willingness to pay the 40 million euros release clause to free the striker. Moreover, the English club has already taken the next step, intensifying contacts with Zirkzee's entourage to at least attempt to meet Kia Joorabchian's commission demands, starting from 15 million euros.
As long as there's a chance, Milan will try to sign Joshua Zirkzee. But to avoid ending up empty-handed, the Rossoneri management is also considering alternatives, though those too are at risk of slipping away. In fact, the two names that are being linked are Jonathan David from Lille and Serhou Guirassy from Stuttgart, although David has actually been off the Rossoneri's radar for a while, despite being coached by Paulo Fonseca last season. In light of this, the French-Guinean striker seems to be the most realistic target, but even in this case, it won't be straightforward, especially since Borussia Dortmund has reportedly made a strong recent move for the Stuttgart star.
