Paolo Scaroni, president of Milan, spoke to the club's official channel before the Rossoneri's game against Venezia. He provided an update on the new stadium issue following the recent meeting with Milan's mayor, Giuseppe Sala. Here are his statements:
How are you?
"They removed a small kidney stone, all good. I'm here today, I didn't want to miss such an important match."
Any news on the stadium issue?
"The new thing is that we have 70,000 spectators. I thank the fans who always support us, especially during these somewhat challenging times for us. Regarding the stadium, there was a meeting with the mayor of Milan the other day and we discussed options for the city of Milan."
Scaroni continued:
"We explained to him that a renovation is not possible, as the result would never be at the level that Milanese clubs deserve. The idea of reviving the old San Siro project emerged, a long-time dream of mine, but it’s a path with challenges: nothing is decided or certain. We’re following it, but our number one priority remains San Donato. We are clear that San Donato is progressing, and at the moment, it's the option we prefer."
