Eusebio Di Francesco, Venezia’s coach, was interviewed by DAZN after the 0–2 defeat against Milan.

Here are his statements:

On the penalty not awarded for the contact between Strahinja Pavlovic and John Yeboah:

"While I was rewatching the incident, I thought that if it had happened in midfield, it would have been whistled. In fact, he did whistle a foul on the second one, with Theo, who tends to fall a bit too easily. In this situation, both the arm and the foot… You can’t not go and review it, and not give a penalty. I never talk about refereeing, but we are fighting for something very important — our survival. In my opinion, we are being shown a lack of respect. It was a careless refereeing performance. But what more needs to happen to award a penalty? Someone completely ignoring the ball and going into the opponent with his arm. It makes me angry — if it had happened at midfield, why whistle the foul then? Evaluations need to be made the same way for everyone."

Di Francesco added:

"We are Venezia, they are Milan, and they have an extremely important potential, but in this match, I’m really fuming because we didn’t deserve to lose, and certain incidents steer matches one way or another. And in this case, it was steered in favor of a team that is already stronger and didn’t need these little helps. I won’t accept injustices anymore, they bother me. I am always serious and very calm, but right now, I’m really fuming."
