Christian Pulisic’s season is genuinely difficult to describe. In the first half, up until 28 December, he was without doubt Milan’s best player, and quite possibly the best in the entire league. Goals came regularly, but above all his performances were of a top-level player, making him the lifeline of Allegri’s side, as happened in Turin when he came on with a fever and single-handedly turned the game around against Torino.

In the second half of the season, all of that has become nothing more than a faded memory. Pulisic has not scored since the end of last year and also looks nervous, unable to contribute in other ways.
His form, with the World Cup approaching and undoubtedly a lot of pressure on his shoulders, has only further clouded his future in the Rossoneri shirt. Today, La Gazzetta dello Sport addresses the issue:
"Pulisic, the great freeze".
This is then reinforced in the most important part: almost five months without scoring, and even contract renewal now seems far away.
The subheading adds: "The winger’s extension seemed imminent, but instead it has fallen through. Along with the goals." The American has a contract until 2027 with a one-year option, but at present there is complete silence: his performances on the pitch have not helped at all.
