The current edition of Tuttosport headlines the following about Milan:
"Cardinale, time for decisions: this is the key week"
Two weeks have passed since the dismissals of Giorgio Furlani, Geoffrey Moncada, Igli Tare and Massimiliano Allegri, and for the moment none of them has yet been replaced. While Massimo Calvelli is handling day-to-day operations with Furlani’s responsibilities, Milan’s technical department and the head coach position are still without leadership.
The hope of the fans, who are understandably concerned given that there is just one month left until the squad returns to training and the club is completely stalled, is that this will be the key week for Gerry Cardinale to reach decisions. He has been holding a huge number of contacts and discussions, but so far has not made any choices.
The most prominent names are Ralf Rangnick to lead the technical department and Oliver Glasner for the head coach role, but, as usual, there are differing views within Milan, as Zlatan Ibrahimović is pushing for a sporting director close to him such as Ramon Planes (advisor at Al-Ittihad and represented by Rafaela Pimenta, former partner of the historic agent of the Swede, Mino Raiola) and Mauricio Pochettino as head coach.
