For the second time in six years, negotiations between Milan and Ralf Rangnick have broken down. Back then, it was Stefano Pioli’s results that made the Milan management change their minds; today, instead, it is the imposing presence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic that is weighing heavily. The German manager had explicitly requested zero interference from the ownership and from the Swede as a necessary condition for becoming technical director.
No answers arrived after days of waiting, and so Rangnick hung up the phone. In all of this, Ibrahimovic now feels he is in command and would like to appoint Kirovski as sporting director.
Ibrahimovic wants Kirovski as sporting director
When he returned to the club as an executive, Zlatan Ibrahimovic had already decided to entrust Jovan Kirovski with the Milan Futuro project. Now, having effectively prevailed over Rangnick, the Swede would like to promote his friend to sporting director of the first team.
This is what Tuttosport reports today, initially headlining: "Milan, Ibra wins. Rangnick walks away and Glasner is considering it. The Swede did not want to grant full powers to the technical director.”
It then adds what had already been anticipated:
“Ibra attempts another coup: promoting his friend Kirovski to sporting director of the first team."
