After Gonçalo Ramos, Ruben Amorim could soon welcome another of his fellow countrymen to Milan. To strengthen and complete the defence, the Portuguese coach has reportedly set his sights on Antonio Silva of Benfica. The 2003-born centre-back is under contract with the Lisbon club until June 2027.
Thanks in part to the involvement of the ever-present and influential agent Jorge Mendes, the deal could already be at an advanced stage, as the player has reportedly given his full approval to a move to the Rossoneri. Regarding the developments on the Lisbon-Milan axis, Corriere dello Sport this morning ran the headline, "Amorim backs Antonio", with Silva viewed as the ideal profile for the three-man defence that Amorim is looking to build.
