A change of head coach always brings changes, whether minor or significant. Training methods change, communication styles change, and so does the coach's level of involvement on the training pitch.
When the outgoing and incoming managers come from very different generations and footballing cultures, the transition is even more pronounced, much like the one currently taking place at Milanello following the arrival of Ruben Amorim to replace Massimiliano Allegri. Journalist Luca Bianchin discussed the situation in an article published on Gazzetta.it.
Luca Bianchin highlights the differences between Amorim and Allegri:
"Allegri delegated a large part of the training sessions to his extensive coaching staff, which was expanded further last summer, stepping in only at specific moments. Amorim, on the other hand, has a much smaller backroom staff and is frequently involved on the pitch himself. Allegri addressed the squad in Italian, whereas Amorim does not, at least not yet. He speaks in English. He gave a brief speech to the players, stayed close to the squad throughout the session, and spent a considerable amount of time speaking in particular with Mario Gila."
