After the France–England post-match, a thrilling third-place play-off won by Thomas Tuchel’s side, Adrien Rabiot was interviewed by DAZN, where he naturally touched on the subject of his future.
Are you ready to return to Milan after your holidays?
"First of all, the holidays, obviously. We’ve been waiting for this ever since we lost to Spain. Those days were really difficult mentally; it was hard to focus on playing this match. We deserve this break. We need to rest properly, and then we’ll come back, hopefully as late as possible."
Are you definitely starting again with Milan?
“Yes, yes, of course. Then we’ll speak with the coach and with Mike (Maignan), we’ll be in touch. We wanted to stay calm during the World Cup and didn’t want to be distracted by other things. Now there will be time to talk things through calmly.”
Have you already spoken with your future coaches, Amorim at Milan and Zidane with France?
“No, I haven’t spoken to anyone. As I said before, we’ll certainly get in touch with Amorim. As for Zidane, there is nothing official; I don’t know if he will be the next national team coach. Would I be happy with him? Of course, yes. Apart from that, I just want to enjoy my holidays.”
